In many parts of the Quran there is the usage of ‘We’. Who else is meant along with God?

Question:

In many parts of  the Quran there is the usage of ‘We’. For example, ”We ordered…”.  Now, who does/did with God?

Answer:

The ‘We’ that is used in the Qur’an is referring to God and only God. The plural is used to indicate the Greatness of God. Just as in English the queen refers to herself in the plural and says ‘we’- this is called the ‘We of Majesty’. Similarly in Arabic the plural is used for a single being to show their status and importance. In other places in the Qur’an, Allah uses the singular to refer to Himself to place extra emphasis on His Unity.
