Question:

I would like to know if there is a dua (supplication) for pregnacy. I have been trying for 8 months, but I’m having a little bit of trouble due to my problems. Can you please help me with a dua to remove my sickness?

Answer:

Please follow the following recommendations while you submit to the Will of God, whether it is in His divine Wisdom that you must have a child or not:

1. Family plans for young couples and newly weds could be one of the self-caused problems against pregnancy. Make sure you don’t do it.

2. Fast the first day of the Month of Muharram and ask Allah to grant you a righteous child.

3.  Recite this Du’a that is narrated from Imam Sajjad (a.s) 70 times:

رَبِّ لا تَذَرْنِی فَرْداً وَ أَنْتَ خَیْرُ الْوارِثِینَ وَ اجْعَلْ لِی مِنْ لَدُنْکَ وَلِیّاً یَبَرُّ بِی فِی حَیَاتِی وَ یَسْتَغْفِرُ لِی بَعْدَ

وَفَاتِی وَ اجْعَلْهُ خَلْقاً سَوِیّاً وَ لَا تَجْعَلْ لِلشَّیْطَانِ فِیهِ شِرْکاً وَ لَا نَصِیباً اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّی أَسْتَغْفِرُکَ وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَیْکَ

إِنَّکَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِیمُ

4.  Every morning say 70 times:

سبحان الله

then 10 times:

استغفر الله ربي و اتوب اليه

then 9 times again:

سبحان الله

then finally only once:

استغفر الله ربي و اتوب اليه

This is recommended by Imam Baqir (a.s).

5. In your Sojood recite this Quranic Du’a which is recommended by Imam Sadiq (a.s):

ْ رَبِّ هَبْ لِی مِنْ لَدُنْکَ ذُرِّیَّةً طَیِّبَةً إِنَّکَ سَمِیعُ الدُّعاءِ رَبِّ لا تَذَرْنِی فَرْداً وَ أَنْتَ خَیْرُ الْوارِثِین.

6. Before going to bed (for intimacy) recite this Quranic Dhikr 3 times:

وَ ذَا النُّونِ إِذْ ذَهَبَ مُغاضِباً فَظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ نَقْدِرَ عَلَیْهِ فَنادى‏ فِی الظُّلُماتِ أَنْ لا إِلهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحانَکَ إِنِّی

کُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمینَ  » (انبیاء- 87)

7. It is also narrated from Imam Sadiq (a.s) that eating eggs and honey and Du’a for the child helps having children.
